The Trust has recruited volunteers to work on its Reserves, undertaking practical conservation tasks that contribute to the maintenance and improvement of these sites and their biodiversity. This placement will give the volunteers a great chance to get out into some really beautiful sites, meet new people, get fit and learn some new skills. Volunteers work on a variety of the trusts managed sites around Lancashire and assist in the vital work carried out by the trust to maintain the areas for the animals and for visitors. This is a great way to gain some experience in practical conservation work, but also a great way to explore some stunning areas of Lancashire.
There are two roles available with the LWT, Conservation Volunteers, and Wildlife Watch volunteers. Conservation Volunteers help with the practical aspects of the LWT’s work, while the Wildlife Watch volunteers help with the educational visits the LWT run. As these are mainly in the summer, volunteers are welcome to help out with other activities during the rest of the year.
