LESS Home Energy Service

Green Lancaster has teamed up with local organisation LESS to offer students the chance to volunteer on their Home Energy Service scheme, which aims to lower domestic carbon emissions, increase energy efficiency and reduce fuel poverty in the local area. The service will provide free energy surveys and carbon footprint reports for people across the Lancaster district. there will also be opportunities to help out at promotional events.

This placement is ideal for students considering a career in the energy and environment sectors. Full training from LESS will be provided for all volunteers. For more information, visit the LESS website here.

Volunteer Role
  • Visit local homes to assess their energy performance
  • Advice residents on how to reduce their energy bills
  • Help run any promotional events
Commitments
  • Attend all induction and training events
  • Attend at least one home visit per term
  • Many more shifts available
  • Attend end of year plenary session
